The Executive Committee of Substitutes United of Buffalo is in the process of planning many important events that all members are urged to attend.
These include:
June 14 and 15: Book giveaway at Juneteenth Festival:
In collaboration with Juneteenth Festival organizers, SUB will once again be distributing books donated by Project Flight, during the 2-day event. Our table is traditionally located in front of the Martin Luther King statue, and we urge all our members to stop by and say hello or lend a hand!
June 18: Board of Education meeting:
The last regular Board meeting of the year will be held at 5:30 pm in room 801 of City Hall. SUB Executive Committee members have been attending the meetings for the past several months to speak on the need for a new contract. We urge all members to show support by attending the meeting. If you want to address the board, call 716-816-3567or 3568 and ask to be put on the speaker’s list.
August or September: Back to School barbeque and General Meeting.
Date, time and location to be determined. The General Meeting will include a review of finances and activities for the 24-25 school year and ratification of the contract if negotiations are complete.
October: Elections for officers and delegates to the Executive Committee of SUB
Elections will be held for the positions of Vice President and Secretary, (2 -year terms) and five Delegates, (four 2-year posts and one 1-year post.)
Information on the nomination process and election will be made public when available.
