Committee Members Wanted

If you would like to be more involved with Substitutes United of Buffalo, we could always use your help on one of our many Committees.
Our Committees meet once a month to investigate and plan activities to bring  back to the Executive Committee for approval.
The Committees and their primary function are: Finance: Oversee income and expenses of  SUB. Help create annual budget.   Membership: Update membership lists, contact non-members, work toward increasing membership. Also seeking Building Subs interested in being Building Delegates who would greet all subs who come to their building, talk to them about the union, post information on bulletin boards, report concerns, complaints, and issues of subs to SUB, etc.

Professional Development:  Contact members to determine what PD they would be interested in, research sources of PD.

By-Laws Committee: update the SUB bylaw and Constitution.

Social Committee: Plan and organize  parties, activities, or events for members to meet and socialize.

Community Involvement: Identify charitable events or community activities SUB can participate in to create a public presence. Including Juneteenth Fest, Labor Day, Gay Pride, Hispanic Day parades, cancer walks, food drives, backpack giveaways, clothing drives, etc.

Website (Communications): Identify and submit items of interest to substitute teachers, including upcoming events, professional development opportunities, and stories about interesting subs.
