SUB members to Address Board of Education March 19 on Contract Issues

In anticipation of contract negotiations with the Buffalo School District, members of the negotiating team for Substitutes United of Buffalo will be speaking at all Board of Education meetings for the remainder of the school year. The current contract expires June 30.

 All substitute teachers are encouraged to attend and/or speak at the meetings to let school board members and the general public know what our job entails, what we feel we deserve and what we want.

 Negotiations between the two sides begin March 28. Representing the SUB are Robert Jenkins, president; Chris Salamone, vice president; Amy Lythcott, treasurer; Matthew Smith, chair of the Fiscal Control Committee and Anna Geronimo, NYSUT Labor Relations Specialist.

 The Board of Education meetings are held on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. on the following dates and locations:

  • March. 19, City Hall, Room 801
  • April 9, Performing Arts, 450 Masten Ave.
  • May 21, Performing Arts, 450 Masten Ave.
  • June 18, City Hall, Room 801
