Due to numerous Substitutes, Teachers and Teacher Aides receiving Administrative Leave letters and allegations of CAIES (Child Abuse In an Educational Setting) being made against them, SU/B and NYSUT are recommending the following:
ALL SUBSTITUTES SHOULD NOT GIVE THEIR PERSONAL PHONE NUMBER AND/OR EMAIL ADDRESS TO STUDENTS, EVER!
Also, NEVER TAKE PHOTOS OF STUDENTS WITH YOUR PERSONAL PHONE OR CAMERA.
You may have done so in the past with no negative consequences, but this is a new day and anything you do in that manner, as well intended as you may be, may be misinterpreted as you violating a student.
